What You'll Need:

• 5-gallon food-grade bucket with lid
• 4 gallons of water
• 1 gallon (128 oz) of high-quality margarita mix concentrate
• 1 bottle (1.75L) of 100% agave silver tequila (optional, for pre-mixed alcoholic batch)
• 1 cup of orange liqueur (e.g., Triple Sec or Cointreau, optional)
• Long-handled mixing spoon or whisk
• Measuring cups

Step-by-Step Instructions:

1. Prepare the Base:
   
   • Pour 4 gallons of water into the clean 5-gallon bucket. Warm water helps the concentrate dissolve more completely and prevents sugar from crystallizing in the machine.

1. Add the Concentrate:
   
   • Slowly pour the entire 1-gallon bottle of margarita mix concentrate into the water.

1. Mix Thoroughly:
   
   • Using a long-handled spoon or whisk, stir the mixture vigorously for 2-3 minutes. Ensure you scrape the bottom and sides of the bucket to incorporate all the concentrate fully. The mixture should be uniform in color with no settling at the bottom.

1. For a Pre-Mixed Alcoholic Batch:
   
   • If you are adding alcohol beforehand, pour in the 1.75L bottle of tequila and 1 cup of orange liqueur at this stage.
   • Stir thoroughly again to combine. The final volume will be just under 5.5 gallons.

1. Chill and Serve:
   
   • Securely fasten the lid on the bucket.
   • Refrigerate the mix for at least 4-6 hours, or preferably overnight, until it is completely cold. This step is critical. Adding cold mix to the machine ensures it freezes quickly and correctly, preventing a slushy or watery consistency.
   • Once chilled, pour the mix into the reservoir of your frozen drink machine and start the freezing cycle according to the machine's manual.

Pro Tips:

• Taste Test: Before chilling, dip a spoon into the mix and taste it. Adjust sweetness or tartness by adding a little more concentrate, water, or a squeeze of fresh lime juice to suit your preference.
