SAFETY FIRST - CRITICAL PRECAUTIONS:

• THIS IS A PROFESSIONAL EFFECTS DEVICE. MISUSE CAN CAUSE INJURY.
• NEVER point the machine at people, animals, flammable materials, or electrical equipment.
• NEVER look directly into the spark outlet nozzle.
• Ensure the machine is on a stable, level, non-flammable surface.
• Keep all bystanders at least 10 feet away from the front and sides of the machine during use.
• Use only manufacturer-approved spark cartridges. Use of incorrect material is a fire hazard and will damage the unit.

Setup & Pre-Operation:

1. Location & Positioning:
   
   • Place the machine on a solid, flat, level surface (e.g., concrete, non-flammable stage deck).
   • Ensure the 16-foot projection path is completely clear of ALL obstructions: ceilings, lighting fixtures, curtains, decorations, pipes, or signage.
   • Secure the unit if necessary to prevent movement.
   • Verify the area is well-ventilated.

1. Power Connection:
   
   • Ensure the unit's power switch is in the OFF position.
   • Plug the power cord (110V) into a grounded, dedicated circuit outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
   • Check that your power source matches the unit's requirement (110V / 220V as labeled).

1. Control Connection:
   
   • For Wireless Remote: Install the 23A 12V battery. Ensure you have a clear line of sight to the machine's sensor.
   • For DMX Control: Connect a standard 3-pin or 5-pin DMX cable from your controller to the unit's DMX IN port. Set the unit's DMX address as required.

Operation:

1. Power On & Test:
   
   • Turn the unit's main power switch to ON. A status light should illuminate.
   • Perform a brief (1-2 second) test fire using your chosen control method to ensure proper ignition and direction. Visually verify the spark height and path are clear.

1. Firing the Machine:
   
   • Using the Wireless Remote: Point the remote at the unit's sensor and press the button. The machine will fire as long as the button is held. Release to stop.
   • Using DMX: The machine will respond to the DMX channel assigned for intensity. A value of 0-10% may be "off," while 100% is full power. Consult your DMX controller's manual.

1. During Operation:
   
   • Continuously monitor the spark projection path and the audience safety zone.
   • Be prepared to cease operation immediately if any person or object enters the safety zone.
   • The machine may become warm during extended use. Do not touch the housing near the nozzle.

Shutdown & Post-Operation:

1. Cease Operation:
   
   • Stop firing the machine.
   • Turn the unit's main power switch to OFF.
   • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

1. Cooling & Safe Handling:
   
   • Allow the machine to cool for a minimum of 30 minutes before attempting to move or service.
   • DO NOT open the cartridge compartment until the unit is completely cool.

1. Post-Event Procedure:
   
   • Once cool, dispose of the spent spark cartridge safely (it may be warm).
   • Wipe down the exterior with a dry, soft cloth. DO NOT use liquids or cleaners.
   • Store the machine and remote in its case in a cool, dry place.

Troubleshooting:

• No Power / No Status Light:
  
  • Check that the power cord is securely plugged in at the unit and the wall.
  • Verify the outlet is live (test with another device).
  • Check the unit's power switch.
• No Sparks When Fired:
  
  • Verify a spark cartridge is properly loaded.
  • Ensure the cartridge compartment is fully and securely closed.
  • Check remote battery or DMX signal/cable.
  • The cartridge may be spent.
• Weak or Erratic Sparks:
  
  • Cartridge may be near depletion.
  • Check for obstructions in or at the nozzle (ONLY when unit is OFF and COLD).
  • Ensure the unit is on a level surface.
• Unit Stops Firing Mid-Use:
  
  • Cartridge is likely empty. Allow to cool and replace.
  • The unit may have an internal thermal cutoff. Allow to cool for 20 minutes.

Emergency Procedures:

• MALFUNCTION / UNCONTROLLED FIRING:
  
  1. IMMEDIATELY turn the main power switch to OFF.
  2. IMMEDIATELY unplug the power cord from the wall.
  3. Clear all personnel from the area in front of the unit.
  4. Allow the machine to completely deplete its cartridge while pointed in a safe direction, or let it cool before safe handling.

• FIRE:
  
  1. Cut power as above.
  2. Use a Class ABC fire extinguisher. Do NOT use water.
  3. Call 911 if the fire is not instantly controllable.

Maintenance:

• After each use, visually inspect the nozzle for debris.
• Clean the exterior only with a dry cloth.
• Store in a clean, dry environment.
• Have the unit professionally serviced annually.
